Born in Madrid to a family steeped in sporting tradition, Javier González Barahona arrived at padel not through the conventional corridors of tennis or squash, but from the football pitch. It was his parents who first encouraged a change of scenery. A pivot that would prove to be one of the most consequential decisions of his young life. What began as a diversion quickly revealed itself as a vocation.
His unconventional origin lends his game a character distinctly his own. Where others draw from the textbook cadences of racket sport, Barahona plays with the instinct and spatial awareness of a midfielder, reading the court with a fluency that cannot be taught, only possessed. A right-side player of rare composure, he has climbed to 22nd in the world, with quarter-final appearances at the Paris Major and the Acapulco Major standing as testament to his poise on the grandest stages.
Three-time champion of Spain and multiple FIP Silver title holder, Barahona is as devoted to the refinement of the mind as he is to the mastery of his craft. He works with a sports psychologist to sharpen the mental discipline that separates the exceptional from the merely talented — a pursuit of quiet excellence that mirrors the very philosophy of Le Padel.

Team GB U18 — The Ascent Begins
There is a rare quality in those who arrive at greatness from improbable beginnings. Stan Hunt came to padel with no racket in hand. His foundation was laid on football pitches and cricket grounds across England. Yet within two years of first stepping onto a padel court, he had earned his place in the Team Great Britain Under-18 squad. Prodigious does not begin to describe it.
Training under the British Padel Academy, Hunt's ascent has been as rapid as it has been purposeful. Grade 3 and Grade 2 title wins, quarter-final appearances at the nation's most prestigious Grade 1 events, and a place among the first British juniors ever to compete on the international FIP Promises circuit. Each milestone arriving not as a surprise, but as the quiet inevitability of talent meeting discipline.
At the FIP Junior European Championships in Budapest, Hunt measured himself against the continent's finest young players. At FIP Bronze and Silver events across Europe — from Gothenburg to Stratford to the island courts of Jersey — he has demonstrated a maturity and composure that belie his seventeen years. Those who have coached him speak of a ceiling that is, in their words, genuinely unknown.
